Welcome
Ultimately, this blog is about real food, food we grow, raise, or purchase that is at least natural in that our great-grandmothers would recognize it as food at first glance. It is also about what is happening in the US, specifically, concerning our food culture; the adulteration of the food and food products that are currently available in the typical American food market. I will try to bring news articles, editorials, and videos which are pertinent to developing an understanding of the state of our current food crisis and what some of our options might be as individuals concerned with our future health, and the health of our children and our planet.
As we move through our daily lives, we find a multitude of conditions over which we have little to no control. These conditions range from the quality of the air we breathe, the taxes we pay, and the machinations of politicians. We have to eat and what we decide to eat and where it comes from is something we can have some control over. It may not be easy, we are all habituated in some way or another, but it is doable, at least to some degree. So here it is… getting informed, connecting with what part of this process is most important and practical to us and our families is where we might begin. Finding the facts about our food supply, reading the ingredients before we buy, learning about alternatives to the food and ingredients that are poisoning us, finding local sources that are mindful of quality and sustainability will contribute to a change in what and how we eat and how we thrive. Our intention will produce positive outcomes.
I hope this blog will help toward a clearer understanding of our current condition and will provide a few signposts along a path littered with misinformation and malicious intent fostered by those who put profits before people. Let me know your thoughts.
Namaste

Hi Michael,
I was surfing the web and came across this site. I am sure you don’t remember me – I am Cynthia’s cousin – Patty Zimmerman ( jean and don’s daughter). I am married now and have a ten year old son and live in Michigan. How is life treating you? I hope all is well.
Hope to hear from you.
Patty

Of course I remember you, Patty. I am glad see you out there, and I hope things are well for you and your family. I am enjoying the California life, culture, and weather, living in an incredible little town in gold country in the Sierra Nevada foothills. A great place to visit, too.
How did you ever trip over my blog?
